This story was inspired by the notorious Adelaide Hills firebug, Helen Judith White, who was sentenced to 13 years prison in 2007 for the deliberate lighting of 21 fires in and around the Australian town of Harrogate using customised rigs of mosquito coils. My partner was a witness to one of these fires near his property in Oakbank.
